Regridding Ganymed 1.0 from MERRA

To create a set of either Ganymed-1_0_M or Ganymed-1_0_D restarts from MERRA using the regrid script a three step sequence must be done so that the CATCH restarts are properly scaled.

Once you have the the MERRA restarts proceed as follows:

1.) Run regrid with the OUTPUT boundary condition tag set to Fortuna-2_1 and the OUPUT horizontal resolution set to 1/2-degree.

2.) Run regrid using the restarts created in step 1 with the OUTPUT boundary condition tag set to Ganymed-1_0_m1 and the OUPUT horizontal resolution set idential to the input.

3.) Rung regrid using the restarts created in step 2 with the INPUT tag set to Ganymed-1_0_m1 and the output set to a valid Ganymed-1_0 OUPUT horizontal resolution and boundary condition tag.

Note if you going to from Fortuna to Ganymed you can start at step 2.

The valid Ganymed-1_0 tags are Ganymed-1_0_M and Ganymed-1_0_D and the difference is:

      Ganymed-1_0_M:
      --------------
Contains tile files which treat the Great Lakes and Capsian Sea as LAKE,
and therefore uses the GEOS5 Lake (M)odel to update its surface temperature.
This boundary area would be approprate when running with Reynolds 1-deg SST
data which has no LAKE information.
      Ganymed-1_0_D:
      --------------
Contains tile files which treat the Great Lakes and Capsian Sea as OCEAN,
and therefore uses the Input SST (D)ata to update its surface temperature.
This boundary area would be approprate when running with OSTIA 1/8-deg SST
data which has information over LAKEs.
